This circular rural walk takes us around the hinterland of the Middle Rib Valley. Firstly we follow the Rib, passing the ruins of Thundridge Old Church, until we reach the curiously-named hamlet of Cold Christmas. We then ascend to a plateau which is mainly devoted to arable farming, it being the westernmost part of the Chaldean Estate.
After crossing Barwick Ford, we ascend to the High Cross private airstrip and then enter the grounds of Youngsbury. The parkland here was modelled by Lancelot "Capability" Brown in the late 1700s. The walk concludes with the option of liquid refreshments at the Feathers Inn.
