Overview

Walk around Featherstone. Start at South Tyne trail car park. Walk to Lambley viaduct affording lovely views over valley. From Lambley viaduct down a number of steps to valley where we follow the river towards Featherstone Castle & Italian POW camp. Stop at bridge nearby for coffee break. Return via same route back to Lambley viaduct.

Terrain is flat and easy going from car park. Also flat along river towards Featherstone Castle. Only one stile to negotiate. The climb back up steps from valley floor to Lambley viaduct may be a little strenuous, but worth it for the views.

Coffee stop en route.
