An 11.5-mile walk from Cromford in Derbyshire. Starting from Cromford Wharf car park on Mill Road, the walk goes along the canal initially then uphill and along a former railway line, now a walking and cycle trail.
After lunch the walk goes across fields to the village of Ible, then along the Limestone Way to Bonsall Dale and then back to Cromford.
The walk is moderate overall, but with some fairly strenuous uphill sections on good paths and trails.
Meet at Cromford Wharf car park, DE4 3RQ. (Turn right at the traffic lights if entering Cromford on the A6 from the south).
The car park charge was £4.80 all day, but might now be over £5, CASH ONLY as far as I know. On-road parking spaces are sometimes available by the car park entrance.
There are toilets at the car park and along the trail before lunch. In the afternoon there is a possible pub stop at Bonsall Dale.
Hopefully we'll be back in time for tea and cake in Cromford!
