We are the Taff Ely Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A walk of historical interest charting the impact of the Crawshay Ironworks. Starting at Cyfarthyr Castle the route visits the iron workers cottages, the ruins of the Iron Works and other points of interest.
There will be an optional short visit to the Museum. Entrance fee £2:50 or £2:00 for OAPs
Llantrisant Leisure Centre car park.
Take the A470 heading for Merthyr, to the roundabout with Trago super store on the left hand side. Leave on the third exit, head down to the mini roundabout and go straight through onto Swansea Road (A4102). Follow the hill down until the first turn left onto Cyfarthea Road. Keep on this road round across the bridge, and finally onto Brecon Road, shortly after you will see the car park on your left.
