The walk begins at Boultham Park and rises through South Common, where there are fine views of the city and its cathedral. It proceeds along Lincoln Edge with more views, this time over to the Trent valley, then down to and along the Witham valley and its adjacent drains.
There are horses on the common, which might be inquisitive but are very used to walkers and there are small sections along and crossing busy roads, so we would ask for any dogs to be kept on the lead at all times. There may be some muddy areas and there are moderate ascents.
There will be the usual coffee and lunch stops en route.
The cafe and toilets in Boultham Park are open from 9am-3pm.
Please register for this walk on Newark Ramblers website where you will also find details of our car share scheme.
