We are the Taunton Deane Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A 4-mile walk from West Monkton Church, partly on the East Deane Way, with pleasant views. Footpaths and some quiet lanes. 2 stiles. 400 ft total ascent, none of it steep and mostly in the first half.
The Church has made a point of inviting ramblers and cyclists to start activities from their car park. A toilet is available. They are also providing teas and coffees for us from 12:45 pm. All are welcome to bring along a packed lunch, which can be eaten inside the church, or there are some suitable spots outside, depending on the weather. We are encouraged to make donations towards the upkeep of the Church.
The postcode is not very helpful but the W3W above is accurate. The driveway from the road to the church is a winding 200m, starting at the junction of Doster’s Lane, The Street and Church Hill. There are two pillars, a blue sign for the church is on the left and a 5mph sign is on the right pillar.
