Overview

West Mendip Walkers moderate 7.5mile circular walk from Wells Leisure Centre (BA5 2FB).

Leaving the leisure centre car park we follow the  footpath on the old railway line to Haybridge passing  St Cuthberts paper mill  and walk down into and through the small hamlet of Glencot . After a very short  section of the Wells  to Wookey Hole  road we cross  in to Limekiln Lane and  walk to Upper Milton , around the edge of Underwood Quarry and up Reservoir Lane across fields to the Old Bristol Road . At Manor farm we drop down the fields to Lower Milton and on to Wookey Hole  by the Caves car park . Going through the caves camp site we cross Titlands Lane , over fields and  through  a small wood towards Easton via a permissive path and a section of the old Cheddar Valley Railway line .We then head across the fields and enter Wookey village by Buddle Lane . We walk through the village and follow the River Axe  back to Haybridge and  pick up the  path back to the Leisure centre .
