This circular walk leaves Pateley Bridge and soon joins the Nidderdale Way at Bewerley.
From Bewerley, the Nidderdale Way ascends through Skrikes Wood to Yorke’s Folly, a highly promenient landmark across Nidderdale. Weather permitting, this offers sweeping views across Nidderdale and Pateley Bridge.
Just before reaching Heyshaw, we leave the Nidderdale Way to join the Six Dales Trail, a 38-mile multi day trail between Otley and Middleham.
After our descent on paths going through a wood to Glasshouses Bridge, the walk leaves the the Six Dales Trail before rejoining the Nidderdale Way at Blazefield.
We follow the Nidderdale Way for our descent to Pateley Bridge on the Panorama Walk. We will stop at the Panorama Walk viewpoint, that on a clear day gives wonderful views of Nidderdale and the likes of Yorke’s Folly and Guiseclifffe, and the thirteenth centuary St Mary’s Church which has a rather unusual gravestone that is worth seeing.
This walk is followed by Craven Rambler's annual meal at 2pm at The Crown Inn Pateley Bridge. The 7 mile walk is optional. Pre-booking is required for the meal with all menu choices provided to Andrew on 07730 718205 or andrewgold@live.co.uk
