If you know your rave history then you've probably heard the story of DJs Paul Oakenfold, Nicky Holloway, Danny Rampling and Johnny Walker going to Ibiza in the summer of '87, taking this new drug called ecstasy and going to see DJ Alfredo play house music. Following this holiday they brought this experience to the UK and the Acid House scene was born.
Make of that story what you will, but what you can't deny is the contribution these DJs made to the Acid House scene in London with events such as Shoom, The Trip and Spectrum. Many of the venues which held these events have now gone.
Join me as we walk past some of these venues to see what became of them and see which ones are still going today.
Optional: Please join us in the pub at the end of the walk for a drink and a chat.
Terrain: Urban, steps
If joining, please help promote the group on Meetup by optionally sending your RSVP https://www.meetup.com/metropolitan-walkers/events/303701334/
