A circular 4.7 mile walk from Wellington, via Westford and Holywell Lake. The walk is on footpaths and lanes. There are steps up to the railway crossing and, unfortunately, 10 stiles, only two of which are very easy. There are two short climbs but otherwise it’s fairly level. If the cows and sheep remain in the fields, the walk will not be suitable for dogs.
The walk follows the Westford Stream through the Wellington Basins, then the Holywell Stream and then a disused section of the route of the Grand Western Canal. There are good views of the Wellington Monument and the Blackdown and Quantock Hills.
