Join us for a classic, hilly but rewarding coastal walk from Whitby to Robin Hoods Bay and back, finishing up with fish and chips!
Meet outside Whitby train station for a 10am start – we will leave the town and head towards Robin Hoods Bay via the inland cinder track route. We will have lunch down on the beach at Robin Hoods Bay (or as near as we can get if the tide is in!) before winding our way back up through the village and heading back to Whitby along the coast.
When we get back into Whitby we pass the Abbey, walk down the 199 steps and head through the town, finishing our day with some well earned fish and chips.
This is not a flat walk! The return leg along the coastal path is particularly hilly, with a fairly constant pattern of going up and down - in total there is approximately 1550 ft of ascent/descent.
🅿️ The nearest car parks to the meeting point are the Endeavour Wharf and Marina car parks on Langborne Road, YO21 1TH, pay and display (£10.80 all day at the time of writing), or you may prefer to use the Park & Ride
🚻 There are toilets at the start of the walk in Whitby (pay) and at Robin Hoods Bay (free)
🐶 Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead at all times
🥪 You will need to bring a packed lunch
