Overview

This is a beautiful walk from Hebden Bridge at the height of summer when (fingers crossed) the heather will be in full bloom. Meet at the train station for a 10.45am start – we will then leave the town via the canal and head up to Hardcastle Crags, following the river through lovely woodland. We will stop for lunch at Gibson's Mill.

After lunch we continue to head through Hardcastle Crags, climbing up towards Widdop Gate where we will see gorgeous purple heather along the moorland. We will then head towards the Pennine Bridleway, passing near Gorple Lower Reservoir and then following various paths and quiet lanes, until we reach the stunning area of Colden Clough. We follow the river back to Hebden Bridge.
