Overview

A moderate level 6.5 mile walk from the centre of Bollington to White Nancy. This grade 2 listed structure at the top of the hill was erected by the Gaskell family to commerate victory at the Battle of Waterloo in 1817.

We descend from White Nancy to take field paths and quiet country lanes to Higher Hurdsfield near Macclesfield. Then return to Bollington by way of the Macclesfield canal and Middlewood Way.

Lunch can be taken afterwards at the Vale Inn nearby for those walkers wishing to dine following the walk.
