Overview

Starting out from Whitley Chapel we head towards Whitley Mill where we cross Rowley Burn.  We then head west towards Juniper where we cross back over the Burn either by Ford or Bridge depending on the water level. We then follow the Burn upstream for a stretch before heading to High Staples and then down to cross the Devil’s Water.  We follow the Water through Steelhall Wood and then ascend Steelhall Crags before going back down to cross the Devil’s Water again on our way to Rawgreen. From there we work our way though some fields back to Whitley Chapel.

A mix of roads, paths, woodland trails and some field walking. Some heavy rutting in places and eight or nine stiles a couple of which are on walls and are more tricky. Boots rather than shoes due to Ford and trousers rather than shorts due to vegetation
