We'll catch a train from Crewe to Lime Street and then the Mersey Metro to Moreton station on Wirral. We then walk the North Wirral Way across the top of Wirral, then down the Mersey to Seacombe where we catch the Ferry to Liverpool (singing is optional!) and then we will have an early supper.
During the walk we'll have superb views out across Liverpool Bay, the mouth of the Mersey and then the spectacular city-scape of Liverpool.
This walk will have a later start - we will probably catch the 11:26 train from Crewe, and arrive at Moreton by 1pm, where we will have a sandwich lunch. We will take the first evening ferry across to Liverpool at 5:10pm.
Early supper has been reserved at Casa Italia on Stanley Street for 5:45pm.
Indicative return train fares (without railcards) are about £18. The ferry is about £3, and main courses in the restaurant are in the £10-15 range.
For those not wishing to take the train it is possible to drive to Moreton, park near Leasowe Common, ready for a 1pm lunch and walk start. You would then catch the metro back to Moreton after the meal.
Numbers on this walk will be limited to 16, and I ask that you confirm with the walk leader before September 5th, and also let him know whether you will take the train or drive to Moreton.
