What better way to celebrate the big 30 by leading one of my favorite walks. Starting from the youth centre we will make our way over to Newlyns Farm shop passing through quiet culdesacs of Hook cross under the railway line until we get to Holt lane and Bartley Heath Nature Reserve where we might be lucky enough to see some horses. After crossing over the M3 we then head over to the farm shop for half an hour to browse the shop or grab a tea or coffee and use the facilities. We then follow the river to the Mill pub in Oldingham which was closed last year for refurbishment. There's also a picnic area where we shall have lunch. We then follow Basingstoke canal towards Oldingham castle which was built in 1207 and is now a ruin and Greywell tunnel. Joining Nateley Road we then cut through Greywell and then climb Greywell park hill which shouldn't be too steep then cut through Butters Wood just before crossing over the M3 again. We then walk along the Barracks and Kings Bridge passing Owens farm and back to the community centre Via Hook Station if anyone is catching a train home.

Parking at Hook Youth community centre is free .

Please bring a pack lunch with you.
