About us
We’re a friendly bunch of dedicated walkers who put on a great walks programme where every walk is led by one of our experienced leaders! Our group has over 150 members and we’ve had over 25 years’ walking in the beautiful Lancashire and Yorkshire hills surrounding Burnley, Nelson and Colne.
Our walks
A varied walks programme throughout the year includes every alternate Tuesday of each month with some occasional weekend walks! We are always looking to extend our walks programme and if you’d like to become one of our walk leaders, then please contact us or come along on one of our walks. Full details of our walks programme can be found on our website [link].
Join us
Why join the Burnley & Pendle Group? Our walks take in the rich heritage of our area, and you’ll never get tired of the beautiful scenery we have in the Burnley & Pendle area, including the iconic Pendle Hill – home of the 1612 Pendle Witches!
We also organise social events during the year including coach trips to places of interest and the odd meal out, quiz nights and treasure hunts!
You do not have to walk with our Group to join the Ramblers. If you are a lover of the countryside and support the aims of the Ramblers then don’t delay and join us today!
Volunteering Ooportunities
In addition to our walk leaders, there are other ways you can help our local community enjoy the countryside. For example, our Footpath Volunteers play a vital role in helping local landowners and our local County & Borough Councils, maintain the footpaths we all love to walk. There will also other opportunities to help our group, by using your life and work experience!
