Our socials 

As well as walks, Capital Walkers has an active social programme. Our socials are organised by volunteers and provide a great opportunity to get to know each other better and to see what we look like when not covered in wet weather gear! Non-members are welcome to come along to our social events as part of trying us out. You will find our socials advertised on our website.  

Weekends away 

By public transport from London, we reach an amazing variety of landscapes for our day walks, but sometimes it's good to get away completely for a longer break. This is where our weekends away programme comes in.  

In past years we've gone away to walk the coasts of Cornwall and the Isle of Wight, walked in the Peak District and Yorkshire, and ascended Snowdon. For something slightly different we’ve attended the Swanage Blues Festivals and there's normally a New Year trip as well with a selection of walks and a party on the big night. And sometimes we go abroad! In 2022 we went to Switzerland and enjoyed some fantastic and challenging walking in the Alps.
