Since our launch in 2006, our brand of sociable walking has made us one of the fastest growing Ramblers groups in the area. We now have around 300 members - mostly aged in their forties to sixties, but we welcome anyone looking for a friendly active group.
Our beautiful region offers varied walks across rolling hills, ancient woodlands and attractive villages; waterside walks beside the Thames or the Grand Union Canal; snowdrops at Christmas Common or bluebells on the Ashridge Estate.
Walk with us
We offer everything from five-mile strolls with a church tea to challenging hikes. Our walks are mostly at the weekends, but in summer we also offer midweek evening walks. Many of our walks include a snack or lunch break and end with the option of a sociable drink at a cafe, tearoom or pub. One of the highlights of our social calendar is a quiz on a vintage train.
Every September we celebrate our anniversary with a mini walking festival and a picnic, offering a series of walks all starting from the same place. There's something for everyone and it's a great opportunity to get together.
Weekends away
Our members regularly arrange walking breaks around the UK. Recent destinations have included Devon, the Brecon Beacons, the New Forest and the Lake District.
If you're coming on a walk for the first time, note that you don't need to book or contact the leader in advance unless it says so in the walk description. Just turn up in good time!
Walking is a simple pleasure that should be open to everyone, so we campaign to remove barriers to walking and we protect the places we love to wander.
