We’re one of the 500 Ramblers groups who help our local community to discover and enjoy walking in the local area and beyond. We’re committed to protecting the places we all love to walk to make sure they remain open to everyone.
Our regular group walks are a great way to experience the outdoors and explore new places safely and in good company. You’ll get a warm welcome from our experienced walk leaders and like-minded walkers.
We’d love you to join us on a group walk, or to get involved with our work looking after paths and green spaces.
If you’ve got any questions about this group’s walks or how we’re helping to protect the local environment, please do get in touch with us.
Dartford Ramblers was formed in 1992 with Gravesham added four years later. Our membership consists of people from all walks of life who live in not only the two districts mentioned but also Bexley and other areas of south-east London. We even have some members from Maidstone.
Our usual Sunday walk is about 5 miles. There are also frequent Wednesday morning walks of similar length which end with a pub lunch. In the summer we arrange Saturday ‘breakfast’ walks, occasional evening walks, and a 'cream' tea walk.
Our walking area generally covers anywhere within a 20-mile radius of the area.
All are welcome to join us – just turn up!
We are a very friendly group and all new members are welcomed with open arms. Many personal friendships have evolved through the common interest of walking.
We also have a varied social calendar, including short breaks away, quiz nights, theatre visits and Christmas lunches.
