Welcome to the East Dorset Group. We cover the urban areas of Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch, the surrounding areas of countryside with its towns and villages and the magnificent Purbecks.
We have cliffs, beaches, woodland, hills, heathland and agricultural areas to explore – so whatever type of ramble, hike or wander you’re interested in, we have the walk for you.
Our led walks cover many different locations, varying in length from 5 miles to over 15 miles and our volunteer leaders keep things interesting with a wide variety of types of walk.

There is no need to book a place on a walk unless this has been specifically stated. Just turn up after checking the day before on the cards below for cancellations or other changes.
You can join us for up to three trial walks before deciding to become a member of the Ramblers.
As a member, you’ll receive a printed programme three times a year, which will keep you up-to-date with everything East Dorset rambling related.
Our Purbeck Plod. An annual challenge walk of 25, 16 or 12 miles or a run of 25 miles.
