We are a friendly group based in East Staffordshire and we enjoy walking throughout the year in all sorts of places and conditions. It's a great way of meeting and making new friends, getting outside to boost our health and happiness, and seeing the beautiful countryside all around us.
We offer a range of walks from short local walks on Friday mornings to medium and longer walks on Wednesdays and Saturdays, which often venture into Derbyshire, Leicestershire, and other parts of Staffordshire.
In addition to our weekly walks, we organise social activities which may include an annual buffet, walking weekends away, social evenings such as skittles, meals at local restaurants, group visits to local sites of interest and Christmas lunches which usually follow a brisk walk to work up an appetite.
We also aim to offer group holidays each year. Recent trips have included Maderia, the Channel Islands, a High Peaks weekend based in Castleton, Elan Valley in Wales, and a short Christmas walking holiday, usually within a two-hour drive of East Staffordshire.
You are very welcome to join us on a few of our walks, to see if this is for you, before you decide to join the Ramblers and you may also wish to get involved in looking after paths and green spaces in our area.
