Walking in and around Godalming & Haslemere
We are a friendly group based in south west Surrey and walk throughout the year mainly in Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire. Our walks range from 4 to 12 miles and take place on Wednesdays, Thursday mornings, Friday evenings in the summer, and weekends. They are marked using the Ramblers' grading for degree of difficulty so you can decide which ones are suitable for you.
Each year we organise one-day trips by coach to walk in places further away. We also arrange walking holidays in the UK and abroad.
Our programme is not limited to walks. We hold social events several times a year such as quiz nights, photographic evenings and tea parties.
One day a month, with support from Surrey County Council Rights of Way officers, volunteers from the group (the Footpath Working Party) meet to improve sections of paths. They clear vegetation, replace steps, erect kissing gates and install boardwalks.
Join our walking community
Join us to walk with others who enjoy walking, to learn from them about the area, to meet new people, to find new routes, and to help improve and maintain local footpaths.
As a member has commented before, Godalming and Haslemere Ramblers is much more than just a walking group. We hope you’ll get in touch to find out more.
