Walking in and around Grimsby and Louth

Welcome to the Grimbsy & Louth group. We formed in 1980 and currently we have around 360 members.

We’re lucky to have a huge variety of spectacular scenery in our area, including the Lincolnshire coast, with its marshland and miles of sandy beaches with sand dunes. The English Coast Path runs along the coast, though not yet complete.

We also have fascinating wildlife in the area: in October and November, you can see a colony of grey seals come up to the shore to give birth to their pups.

We are very close to the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. From the highest point on the Wolds, you can see Lincoln Cathedral, the Humber Bridge and the Yorkshire power station on a clear day.

Our walks

We have weekly 10 mile walks on Wednesdays and alternate Sundays. During summer months we have a programme of short evening walks, Friday 15-mile walks, once a month. Also Saturday tea shop walks once a month.

We arrange two coach trips in June and September to walk in a different area, e.g., Yorkshire Dales and Derbyshire.

At the moment we don't have available leaders for our 7/8-mile weekly walk.

Joining our walking community

We welcome newcomers to join us 2/3 times to give it a try. After that we ask you to join the Ramblers, to not only become a member of our group but of the country’s largest walking community.
