Walking in and around Maidstone
Welcome to the Maidstone Ramblers. We have around 400 members and organise in the region of 180 walks a year.
About us
We may be based in the centre of Kent, but we walk all over the county and adjacent counties. Do you like to keep active, be in the company of friendly welcoming people, and be outside? If so, you are welcome to join us on any of the interesting and varied walks we offer. Why not visit our website for more information. How to find a walk, what to wear, and what to bring, are all explained.
Our Facebook page allows you to see what to expect. If you have any further questions, we would be happy to answer them.
Our walks
Our walks can be on the North Downs, the Weald, Kent’s extensive coast or anywhere our leaders can find countryside and fresh air. We always have walks on Wednesdays and Sundays but also other days of the week. These may be half-day walks of 5 – 7 miles or all-day walks of 8 – 12 miles. Many walkers enjoy refreshments at a pub along the way or perhaps at the end. Others prefer to take their own snack.
Don’t be surprised to be walking along The Greensand Way, the Stour Valley Path, The Darenth Valley Path or the Saxon Shore Way. Did you know there are over twenty long distance paths we can feature sections of, as we walk hundreds of different footpaths and bridleways.
