Walking in and around Sheringham
Sheringham and District Ramblers pride ourselves on being a smaller, but very friendly group now in our 42nd year. We can offer a very good variety of walks, coastal paths, salt marsh, National Trust woodland and parkland and beautiful countryside.
Our walks are over gentle to moderate terrain with its undulations along the coastal paths. Walks are usually mid-week 4 to 6 miles and weekends 5 to 9 miles in distance led by our experienced leaders. We are more than happy to offer training to anyone wishing to lead in the future.
We have a few social events this year a BBQ , a wherry trip, a fish and chip walk and a coach trip to Ely. We usually have a festive lunch in January. Anyone is welcome to join us for a ‘taster‘ walk on up to three occasions before deciding to become a full member of the Ramblers. All our walks are advertised on our website.
Exploring Norfolk
The Norfolk area has a great variety of landscape and walking opportunities. We, in the Sheringham and District Group, are particularly lucky as we can cover a very long stretch of the North Norfolk coast with its quirky little villages, quaint cottages and buildings and beautiful countryside. Ideal for walkers, bird watchers and even beach lovers to enjoy.
As we are in a tourist area, we get many visitors and cater for these with lovely hostelries and coffee shops which can be visited after an enjoyable ramble with new friends perhaps. We always try to provide some interesting facts about the areas we visit on our individual walks.
Come and join us and explore our lovely part of the Norfolk coast, so much of interest along with the benefits of fresh air, good exercise and companionship.
