Walking in and around Southampton
Come along and join us!
We offer friendly company on our walks in Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset and sometimes further afield. Our walks range in length and pace. We have 5-7 mile half-day walks with moderate and brisker speeds on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, a 4 mile leisurely walk on Fridays and an all-day walk on Sundays with a longer lunchbreak (up to an hour).
Newcomers are always welcome to try our walks: just turn up at the start and make yourself known to the leader. Bring refreshments. Walking shoes should generally be OK for the shorter walks. There is no charge but if after 2 or 3 walks you feel our walks are for you we ask you give serious consideration to joining the Ramblers Association. When joining the Ramblers please select 'Southampton' as your Ramblers Group. You can still join a walk with any group but this supports our activities, and means you receive our Newsletters. There is something for everyone so if you enjoy walking in Hampshire and the surrounding area then why not give us a try? Come and meet us, make new friends, and discover how walking boosts your health and enjoyment. (Photo Martin Farrow).
Dogs are welcome on our walks, but must be put on a lead at appropriate times such as walking along a road or crossing a road, and in the vicinity of livestock. Members can also use the Ramblers app on their smartphone. It is easy to download and install and will allow you see walks in the area and even get directions to the starting point.
