Overview

Walk and Talk - Improve your health and wellbeing with us.

Launching The Hiking Household’s Live Longer Better Bench Walks

Active Cumbria are pleased to invite you to take part in a walk with a difference. Come along and be inspired to be more active, more often, whatever your age.

Out and back walk along the C2C route setting off from Skills 4 U Cleator Moor, follow a new walking map for the route with plenty of opportunities for stopping to enjoy the view and to have a go at some other activities to keep your mind and body active.

Parking is available in the small tarmacked car park.  We join the track from Phoenix Bridge and follow the route of the old Railways, which were built in the 1850’s to carry the coal and iron ore from the mines and quarries that were once very active in this area.   The walk takes you up towards Parkside and has breath-taking views of Ennerdale Valley.  There is a small section which is lined with beautiful trees and has a very peaceful feel allowing you to connect with the surroundings and nature.  Along the route there are a number of metal sculptures designed by the children from local primary schools.
