The Downs Walking Group meets from 10.30 am every Monday at the grassy area just north of the Downs Café, (near the Water Tower), Stoke Road BS9 1FG.
We leave promptly at 11.00 am to walk about 2 to 2½ miles, returning to the café before 12.30 pm.
Today we will be using our ‘regular’ Sea Walls route, which we repeat once a fortnight - heading towards the Sea Walls, then following the Circular Road towards the goat enclosure and the Peregrine Watch, returning to the café via the direction of Ladies Mile.
We suggest that newcomers might find it easier to start with this ‘regular’ walk, most of which can be done by following tarmac paths. There are built-in rest stops and short cuts are easily available.
Next Monday, our leader will take us on one of our four ‘alternative’ routes, which each allow us to see other parts of the Downs. Some of these ‘alternative’ walks will involve rougher terrain, but all walks are on a fairly flat level.
If it is your first walk with us, please arrive at 10.40 am, to meet our walk leader outside the cafe.
