Overview

This walk includes inclines and steps.

 

We will walk up Shipping Brow and Senhouse Street, then turn right down Mill Race to the end of Mill Street to explore the remains of the 18th century coke ovens, before ascending to Furness Road via 22 steps or a ramp. Take the path to the left to Mote Hill with views over the River Ellen and the Solway Firth. Explore the summit area of Mote Hill before returning to Furness Road and back to the aquarium. Wildlife interest: Watch out for swans and otters in the River Ellen.
