Come and join us for a brisk walk around the beautiful countryside surrounding the village of Mortimer. All are welcome so please come along! The walk is FREE to join and takes place on a weekly basis. If it is your first time walking with us, please sign up for the Wellbeing Walks on this website. Alternatively someone is available to help you fill out a brief form on the day. You will recognise the volunteer walk leader from their high-vis jacket.
The group meets in the car park opposite the pub (Horse and Groom), and the long walk is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes of brisk walking with brief rests along the route when needed. There is also a short walk (10:30am) and a regular walk (10:00am) available from the same location.
The group often meets for refreshments afterwards, all are welcome to join after the walk at the Horse and Groom Pub.
This walk contains inclines and the ground is likely to be muddy and uneven in some areas (weather dependent). Please wear sturdy footwear and bring a waterproof!
This walk is intermediate level and is graded suitable for those seeking to push themselves. If you are new to walking you may wish to try the regular walk (10:00am) or the short walk at (10:30am) both starting from the community centre.
There is a toilet in the pub opposite the car park.
Accessibility
Unfortunately, this walk is not wheelchair accessible. Our walk leaders will try to support you to join the walk whatever your fitness level. If you need a slow pace, the short walk at 10:30am is more suitable in the first instance and there will be time to rest.
