One of our walks is called “Bench to Bench, this is perfect for anyone who is wishing to get back into walking. We start off at the Stapenhill Gardens Bandstand and then walk down an incline to the footpath passing the beautiful floral planted displays and the swan statue that has been a local landmark since 1953. Continuing walking next to the River Trent we make our way to Stapenhill Hollows a large open green space with plenty of benches to sit and rest and take in the pretty surroundings. All our walks are led by trained volunteer walk leaders and after they finish back at the Stapenhill Bandstand, the groups meet back up and pop over the road to the Stapenhill Institute for refreshments.
The Bench to Bench walk is perfect if you are thinking of getting back into exercise after maybe a long term illness, operation etc.
The walk can take between 30 to 60 minutes to complete, as the pace is very gentle and their is plenty of resting places to take a seat and enjoy the scenery.
All our wellbeing walks are free and take place every week, rain or shine. However, they can be cancelled at short notice due to flooding and other severe weather warnings.
Please wear comfortable outdoor clothing (depending on the weather), sturdy comfortable shoes and please bring a bottle of water.
