Sheffield has the very rare distinction of having a large area of ancient woodland well within the city boundary. Why not join us for a walk in these stunning woods? Abbey Lane and Whilowdale Road divide the woods into three distinct areas - creatively named Woods 1,2 and 3. Each of the three woods is sizeable and there is an abundance of wildlife in all of them waiting to be enjoyed, not to mention a carpet of wood bluebells in spring. In wood 3 for example our walk sometimes passes the heronry and in wood 2 there is the wood cutters grave to visit. We host two levels of walk on Thursday mornings, a shorter, slower walk and a longer pacier one. Both walks return to the start within the hour where refreshments, available from the Kiosk, can be enjoyed under cover but outside.
