Burns Night on Friday the 31st of January 2025 at Linlithgow Golf Club, starting at 6:30pm, sitting for 7pm. I have organised a Burns night for Ramblers, partners and any friends that would like to come along (please let John Allen know below as soon as you can). If we could all wear an item of tartan to suit the evening.
Linlithgow Golf Club will supply a 3-course meal, of Scotch Broth Soup, Haggis, neeps and tatties, Cranachan or cheese and biscuits, tea, coffee and shortbread (please let me know if you want the vegetarian option) at a cost of £18 each. We will pipe in the haggis and Findlay Erskine will address it. We will do Grace and after the meal, our Burns speakers (will do their 5 to 10 minute speech), Gordon Young will do the Address to the Lassies, Sue Allison will do "Kate O Shanter", then Niccy Angus will reply to the toast to the Lassies. There will be no Immortal Memory as this is too serious (we are there just to have fun). Andy Blake (he's a musical entertainer) will sing a few Burns well known songs, and to finish off the night, John Carswell, from Linlithgow Country Dance Club will "call" a couple of ceilidh dances. Lastly Julie McArdle will do a vote of thanks. It's certain to be a great night. The cost of the night is £18 per person, which should be paid on booking to the Linlithgow Ramblers account.
If you are unsure of how to make a payment contact John Allen, Treasurer 07710 766119 or email treasurer@linlithgowramblers.org.uk
