This walk is stage 4 of the St James pilgrimage route. We will park at Chesil Street multi-storey car park in Winchester, free on a Sunday. It's a few minutes to walk from there into Winchester to catch the bus to New Arlesford, then take a linear walk back. The walk follows along the River Itchen and we will take in the various pilgrim checkpoints along the way. 2 stops, please bring own refreshments. There are no cafes en route, but loads to choose from at the end!
The bus leaves the Broadway at Stop 5 next to the King Alfreds Statue at 09.48am. There are public toilets at the bus stop if needed. I suggest we meet there at 9.35am. If car sharing, we will leave Andover at the usual meet point at 08.45am.
Meet to car share / convoy at Stannah Parking Bays, Anton Mill Rd Andover, please note that the meet time is the time that we intend to leave the car park. If leaving your car there, please put 'Andover Ramblers' note in the windscreen area. Parking by permission of Stannah. If you intend to go directly to the start point then inform the walk leader before hand in case of cancellation etc
