Titterstone Clee Hill is in the far south of the Shropshire Hills and the third highest.
This is an interesting area known for its industrial heritage mining Lime, Coal and more recently and importantly quarrying Dhustone. Previously the summit incorporated a Bronze Age Hill Fort.
We start this walk relatively high and gradually climb over Dhustone Hill. Then we walk by disused quarries and buildings, taking a less steep climb to Titterstone summit joining the Shropshire Way. From here we descend into, and circle a large area of wild open heathland and return via the old mineral railway track (closed in 1963).
From all parts of this walk hopefully we will enjoy wonderful views, as the attached photo.
Hill climbing will be at a pace to suit all and please bring picnic food and drink for a short elevenses stop and lunch break.
If required, there are public toilets (with a lay by to park the car) en route to the walk in Cleehill Village about 0.3 miles before the start of walk car park.
Sorry no dogs are allowed on this walk.
