This circular walk from Ardingly Reservoir car park begins by heading North alongside the reservoir before a steep climb into Ardingly village. From there it drops down hill and then back up again into the metropolis of Highbrook before heading downhill again until it crosses the Bluebell Railway.
From there its a further series of ups and downs until a long stretch alongside some fishing lakes take us into the village of Horsted Keynes where we will stop for lunch.
After lunch we head around the back of Horsted Keynes before crossing a number of fields and walk back alongside the Bluebell Railway briefly before heading through a Christmas Tree farm (reserve yours early to avoid disappointment!), and up yet another short hill before a long stretch leads eventually to Ardingly College. It’s then a short walk through the college grounds back to the reservoir.
The car park can be difficult to find from the main road. See the following link for a map: https://www.meetup.com/bahr-30s-50s-walking-group/photos/33448128/512141386/
Cars required.
If you can, please RSVP to this walk via our Meetup site. This will give the walk leader a rough idea of how many people may be attending. If you are a paid up member of the Ramblers organisation, you can ignore any waitlist you may find yourself on.
We don't ask you to pay to join us on your first three walks. Afterwards, in order to continue walking with our group, you must become a paid-up member of the Ramblers. Click here (https://www.ramblers.org.uk/membership) to apply. The cost is very reasonable and there are also other benefits. Please then bring your membership card with you.
