Starting at the Ditchling Beacon Car Park we walk south to North Bottom around Lower Standean to the Sussex Border Path back up to the South Downs Way.

This is a downland walk with some great views, but it does involve one fairly steep decent and some gentler climbs, which will be taken at a slow pace. Chalk slopes could be slippery if wet so please ensure footwear has a good grip and walking poles might be useful. Although there is no café there is usually an ice cream van that does sell some drinks.

Ditchling Beacon Car Park which is free to National Trust members but costs £6 for a day for non-members. As this is a public holiday the number 79 bus will be running from Old Steine to this car park.
