We are the Tweeddale Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Meet Kingsmeadow Car Park Peebles for car sharing at 9.30am or 10am at starting point.
A circular walk starting and finishing at Elibank and Traquair Forestry Car Park.
Leaving the car park, we follow the track before turning onto new Forestry Commission Road. Walk up hill track to the top of Ashiestiel Hill, turn right onto rough track which goes to the top of the zig zag path in Elibank Forest, which we go down. Walkers can then either go straight back to the car park or return via Elibank Castle ( adding about 2 miles) or go back via the riverside path (adding about 4 )miles.
Coffee and lunch stops.
A fairly easy walk on forest roads, tracks and paths. Long steady uphill stretch, one awkward gate, muddy after rain.
Limited spaces at car park so car sharing where possible.
