We are the Cunninghame Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This is a grade C, Easy walk. Distance approximately 7 level miles. This is a linear walk starting at Barassie Station and ending at Irvine Station.
Meet at Barassie Station:
Train from Kilwinning 9.58am arrives Barassie Station 10.06am.
Train from Ayr 9.35am arrives Barassie Station 9.48am.
We will start the walk about 10.10am when everyone has arrived at the train station.
This walk follows the cycle trail from Barassie to Shewalton woods/moss, where we follow the track through the woods till, we reach the Shewalton Water.
From here we cross the A78 (by bridge) and continue along the cycle track back into Irvine where the walk will end. Trains and buses are available to get you back home.
There are also coffee shops in Irvine if you want have a cuppa before heading home.
