Join Glasgow Young Walkers for a walk up Ben Nevis by the popular Mountain Path.
According to Walk Highlands: 'Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in Britain. This route is the most straightforward ascent of Ben Nevis and is thus often busy with walkers. It was once known as the tourist path but this was really a misnomer - it is a tough and strenuous walk.'
You do need to be reasonably fit to tackle Ben Nevis, with good stamina and a good amount of confidence in the mountains – and remember that coming down is just as hard on your legs as going up!
I am planning this over the solstice weekend, so there should be plenty of daylight if a long day is needed. As always, we'll keep an eye on the weather and make a final call closer to the day.
