Enjoy this generally easy going trail as it winds along the old Coffin Route beside Rydal Water and below Nab Scar to Ambleside via Rydal. This old route was used for many years to transport the dead for burial in Grasmere. Take in the views over the water as you make your way along the relatively good footpaths while keeping an eye out for wildlife between the trees.
