Overview
An interesting walk following (as far as possible) the route of the Braidburn from the point where it enters the sea at Portobello (here it is known as the Figgate Burn) as far as Firrhill. Meeting point is outside Tumbles at Portobello where we start walking inland initially following the Figgate Burn. The route joins together several green spaces with some road walking in between, including Rosefield Park, Figgate Burn Park, Duddingston Golf Course (where the river is now the Braid Burn), Duddingston Playing fields, Inch Park, Hermitage of Braid, Braidburn Valley Park and terminates near the Tesco Store in Firrhill.
Please note that although the walk is largely in “green spaces”, even here paths are mostly tarmac or other hard surfaces.
Walk is linear but well served by buses at both ends.
No PD cost.
