Broad Law is the highest hill in the Borders, a Corbett at 840m. From Meggat Stane it is a short, steady, straightforward climb on open hillside via Fans Law, Cain Law and the beautifully named Porridge Cairn, to the top which has some interesting radio paraphenalia to assist with Edinburgh air traffic control.
We then carry on to Cramalt Law, a Donald at 831m, a sharp descent and climb to the east.
We return on the same route enjoying views of surrounding rolling hills and lochs of the Tweed valley and Tinto Hill.
It is recorded that even Lochnagar, Goatfell and the Isle of Man can be seen from this peak although I have not been so lucky yet!
Off road parking for only a few cars at Meggat Stane.
