Overview

Geal Charn is a 917m high and A’Mharconaich is a 975m high Munros bough belong to the Pass of Drumochter group of Munros. The car park is located at an elevation of 425m, therefore it reduces the climb to both Munros. The route will start at Balsporran Cottages. A quite clear path will lead us to summit of Geal Charn with a grand view to the surrounding mountains. We will descend southwest before the climb to the second Munro A’Mharonaich which has a high corrie just under the summit. After the second Munro we will leave northwards down a steep descent. The final section will be boggy, and we will need to cross the burn, which can be difficult after heavy rain. If the weather permits, we will enjoy panoramic views of Loch Ericht and the neighbouring mountains.
