Overview

A circular route starting at the Mugdock Country Park Visitor Centre. The route heads down through the country park to the Mugdock and Craigmaddie Reservoirs. From the reservoirs, we will follow the West Highland Way out to East Arlehaven and then return via Cuilt Brae and Dumbrock Loch to the Visitor Centre.  Most of Mugdock Park is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), and Mugdock Castle is designated a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Dumbrock Loch Meadows is also an SSSI which surrounds Loch Dumbrock. Occasional short, steep sections. Walking surfaces range from grass and woodland paths to metalled tracks and tarmacadam roads.
