Overview

NOTE: Change of walk start point from that previously published

An easy paced, flat walk in the Burscough countryside and on two sections of the Leeds Liverpool canal.  The walk is largely on good towpaths and across agricultural farmland.

The walk start is accessible from Burscough Bridge and Burscough Junction stations, although you will need to allow some time to walk to the start point.

Meet at the junction between Victoria Street and Orrell Lane (near the canal bridge).

Parking is available at various locations - Tesco (free, no time limit); and car parks on Mill Lane and off Lord Street (behind Burscough Wharf).

Toilets are available at Tesco, and there are several cafes within the town.
