We'll meet on the forecourt outside Chalfont & Latimer station, heading broadly west through Little Chalfont towards Old Amersham, where we'll stop for morning refreshments (c.4 miles - public toilets & coffee shops nearby). From there, we make our way through Old Amersham, crossing under the A413 and across open ground towards the hamlet of Mop End. Heading north from there, we stop in Little Missenden recreation ground for a late picnic lunch (c.8 miles). The Red Lion pub is directly opposite. Crossing back over the A413, we skirt Hyde Heath to progress through woodlands back to Amersham station.
There are toilets in Chalfont & Latimer station and a car park behind the station. There is also a public toilet block in Snells Wood car park, on the junction of Cokes Lane and the Amersham Road. (There's a maximum stay of 5 hours in this car park, so it is not suitable for the walk). After we leave Old Amersham, comfort breaks will be al fresco until we arrive at Amersham station.
