This is a lovely route around Chatelherault Country Park, following the Riccarton path and the Green Bridge Path, walking past the ruins of Cadzow Castle on the way. If we feel up to it we can also add a visit to the monument(optional but added in the mileage)
We will start from the carpark near the children's playground (on the left hand side before the house)There are toilets available at the start of the walk in the visitor centre from 10 AM onwards. This is also where we can have a coffee at the end.
The walk is along good paths, quite up and down but we will take it at a leisurely pace.

Chatelherault Country Park is in the village of Ferniegair, 2.5km south of Hamilton, on the A72 Hamilton, Larkhall/Lanark road. We will park in the carpark on the left coming into the estate, near the playground. Distance to travel is 30 miles each way - £18.00 per car
