Overview

This varied and very pretty walk is completely flat and has no stiles! It begins along a popular shared cycle/footpath by the Chichester Canal to the marina at Birdham. There is a stop here for coffee/early lunch - cafe with toilets and then we set off across pasture and woodland with tantalising glimpses of Chichester Harbour which borders the path as we go.past Dell Quay and back to Chichester We will make a second stop before returning through quiet streets of Chichester and the Bishop's Palace Gardens to the station ( about a mile). There is an option to omit this part by catching the train back from Fishbourne.
Due to a train strike, it is necessary to drive to this walk. Parking at station or Avenue de Chartres- approx £6 a day  Dogs are allowed on this walk but if you choose to bring a dog, please keep it on a short lead and walk at the back of the group as the paths are well used and sometimes narrow. Please also be aware of members who do not like dogs. I expect to back in Brighton by 5.30 at the latest.
